Thomas Sowell gets it right - as usual!

Read this if you truly want to understand the immigration issue - and I believe it is immportant that we all understand the problem we have. Listening to politicians, who are swayed by their need for votes, is not going to make the problem clear.

One key section:

• "How often have we heard that illegal immigrants "take jobs that Americans will not do"? What is missing in this argument is what is crucial in any economic argument: price.
• Americans will not take many jobs at their current pay levels - and those pay levels will not rise so long as poverty-stricken immigrants are willing to take those jobs."

The free-market needs PRICE unfettered to operate properly - allowing illegal immigrants into the country fetters the price. therefore:

1. Illegal immigration must be stopped (This is 1/2 the equation)
2. Illegal immigrants in the country must be made legal or return to their country

The problem is #2 - this costs the politicians votes! But it must be resolved!
