Scott McClellan's book in perspective!

Scott McClellan appears to be a "useful idiot" for a publishing company in the pocket of George Soro's. Not surprising, but it makes one wonder what is going on in his head! Could it be $$$!!

Read the WSJ column here.

Will a "moral vacuum" be our downfall?

An interesting article on a Church of England Bishop's analysis of British society today.

Could this happen to us?

Windfall Profits Nonsense!

John Stossel unmasks the lefts pandering in this column.

If you want to raise the price of gas further while hurting all oil employees and investors - including all of you with 401K's or Mutual Funds - then vote for the Democrat.

If you want to increase the supply which will always lower prices, vote for the Republican.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

"THE URGE TO SAVE HUMANITY IS ALMOST ALWAYS A FALSE-FACE FOR THE URGE TO RULE IT." - H. L. Mencken

Let's Get to Know Obama!

John Kass of the Chicago Tribune shares a bit of his knowledge of Obama. Necessary to read!

David Axelrod, Obama's spokesman, was the spokesman for Mayor Daley! Seems he may continue to have ties to "Chicago Style" politics.

Note: more on David Axelrod from Wikipedia here.

Obama is a problem for the Democrats

Rightwingsparkle summarizes my thoughts on the Democrat situation with Barack Obama as their candidate.

I have wondered for years what the Dems are thinking as they try to implement the failed efforts of Europe to socialize. The Clintons, for whom I have almost nothing good to say, were smart enough to see this as a losing strategy. Hillary is smart enough to see this as a losing strategy, but the extreme left has done her in!

The wonderful thing is that Republicans will have another chance to get this country going in the right direction. Let's hope they do a better job in the next 8 years than they have in the previous 8.

Tell It Like It Is, Mr Sowell!

Thomas Sowells column of Random Events tells us his, and I think very realistic, view of the similarity of Reverand Wright and Senator Obama.

"Both men, in their different ways, have for decades been promoting the far left vision of victimization and grievances-- Wright from his pulpit and Obama as a community organizer for the radical group ACORN, as a collaborator with former Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers, and as the member of the U.S. Senate with the farthest left voting record."

Victimization and grievances instead of values! Is that really the answer? Read the whole column for an interesting perspective.

How can the left fight school choice?

The below quote from Ed Feulner summarizes our situation quite well. If you are happy to live with these results, then continue to fight school choice. It is beyond me how you can let the public unions dictate the destruction of your education system and stand idly by!

“This year, American taxpayers will spend more than $9,200 on the average public-school student. That’s a real increase of 69 percent over the per pupil expenditure in 1980. The total bill for a student who remains through high school will be almost $100,000. This spending would be worthwhile if it gave us the results we need to compete globally. But it hasn’t been doing so. American students still score poorly compared to students from other countries, especially in math and science. The National Assessment of Educational Progress shows 18 percent of fourth-graders and 29 percent of eighth-graders scored ‘below basic’ in mathematics last year. And far too many students drop out. At least 1 in 4 quits high school. Among minority children, the picture is even bleaker. In 2002, only 56 percent of black and 52 percent of Hispanic students graduated, compared to 78 percent of white students. The Census Bureau has found that a full-time employee with a college degree will earn more than $2 million over a lifetime. One with only a high-school diploma will earn half as much, while a dropout, obviously, will earn even less. More ominously, an independent study found dropouts die an average of nine years sooner than graduates. Our educational system is a national problem—but one that calls for local solutions. One approach is to provide school choice.” —Ed Feulner

An interesting exercise for you: take a class size of 25 and use the above figures to see on average how much money supports that classroom - 25 times $9200 - $230,000 per classroom per year!

Now if you listen to the teachers, who claim to be underpaid, let's assume $50,000 goes to the teacher. That leaves $180,000 to support the classroom. Sounds like plenty to me! And they claim they can't get books! Where does the money go?

This is the problem and we better solve it!

Understanding Oil

"Windfall Profits for Dummies" explains the irrationality and pandering of our Presidential candidates. It is critical for all of us to understand basic economics and recognize who will do the correct things to minimize the dislocations caused by higher oil prices - and, yes, there will be higher oil prices!

The key paragraph:

"This tiff over gas and oil taxes only highlights the intellectual policy confusion – or perhaps we should say cynicism – of our politicians. They want lower prices but don't want more production to increase supply. They want oil "independence" but they've declared off limits most of the big sources of domestic oil that could replace foreign imports. They want Americans to use less oil to reduce greenhouse gases but they protest higher oil prices that reduce demand. They want more oil company investment but they want to confiscate the profits from that investment. And these folks want to be President?"

Read the whole thing! Any comments on why the four points in the above paragraph do not make sense?
